Labrador Retriever

German Shepherd

Strongheart and Rin Tin Tin popularised German shepherds in the early 1900s. Both dogs have Hollywood Walk of Fame stars.



Frei complained that the hairstyle misrepresents poodles. “They're great athletic dogs—I'd have a poodle in a minute,” he said.


According to Frei, over 40 American schools and universities have bulldog mascots. Bulldogs are also popular pets. 


Beagles adore people but follow their powerful noses anywhere, which makes them good at detecting out contraband at customs checkpoints and bedbugs in hotels.


Frei calls rottweilers "the middle linebacker of dogs" and loves them. He added that before adopting a dog, you should know its temperament and training demands.

Because of their energy, German shorthaired pointers make great running and hunting buddies. 


Dachshunds, known as "wiener dogs," come in three coat types: smooth, wire, and long. "Saturday Night Live" star Kenan Thompson had a wiener dog named Nathan.

Pembroke Welsh Corgi

Pembroke Welsh corgis are queenly. Queen Elizabeth II surrounded herself with sturdy tiny dogs. Their "butts" with docked tails are popular on the internet.

Australian Shepherd

Australian shepherds, especially in the West, are athletic and populate hiking paths. Aussies are stamina-bred herders.
